By the Sea: A Journey to Freedom & Purpose
So delighted to be asked to assist in the coordination and hosting of renowned spiritual leader from Maui, Hawaii, Mirabai Devi.
Along with Terri Veneziale and Priscilla Howick, we teamed up to bring a memorable event to our Jacksonville and Jacksonville Beaches community.
Responsible for the Opening Ceremony, Closing Ceremony, and promotions....I had a lot of work to do and had a blast. Of course the opening was The Frame Drum and The Crystal Bowls singing Christine Stevens' chant/song 'Listen to the Heartbeat' and a chant I wrote 'Reach Out.'
We SOLD OUT the event in just weeks of promoting it....We teamed with Kate Cordell and Paula - the local yoga studio owners and managers = Ocean Yoga Center - another community leader - to provide the most pristine and sacred space we have in our area.
Our Opening Ceremony naturally consisted of drumming, crystal bowls, singing and chanting...Priscilla was my partner in this piece and we immersed ourselves in the sacred sounding that we shared with the guests as we prepared them for the teachings of Mirabai.
At the closing, I invited former Blondes Drum 2 partner, Lynn Curtin, to sing E Malama with me and to play our ukelele's as we had done on our CD with that very song. It was the perfect song for the event and Mirabai. Since she was here from Hawaii, the E Malama Hawaiian Earth Blessing made her feel right at home and we felt the unity and energy of our community rise to an apex. At the end of the song, when the attendees all participated in the chorus, I knew we had all connected with the golden thread of the Divine Light. It was incredible.
We hope Mirabai comes back to Jacksonville in the future and we thank her so much for the amazing light transmissions and spiritual teachings.
Thank you.
